I am lost for words with regards to todays events. To make a long story short I met, Brian Lamb, Chuck Todd, and Hoda Kotb. Brian Lamb was a spitfire, he was constantley throwing questions at the crowd than retaliating with a snappy response. The panel with Chuck Todd was pretty cool, they were very down to earth and engaged. Hoda was by far the best of the day, her story was inspiring and uplifting, and most importantly made me want to cry. Hida signed my book and made my day, I am also on her twitter page. My life is made! We were also supposed to go on a moonlight monument tour, but we were rained out. All in all it was a pretty good day!
I have always been fascinated by politicians, so when I got the opportunity to lobby on behalf of my school I was thrilled! I have been exposed to some amazing people and have learned to speak out for a cause. Next week I will be meeting with my Rep John Mica(who a while back wrote me a letter to congratulate me on my charitable endeavors). The congressman was so impressed by me that he invited me on a private tour, and a private lunch in the Capitol’s “special” dining hall! I am over the moon and just can’t wait! This is some sweet icing on the cake! ;)
It totally just sank in the in a mere 65 hours I will see you all! I feel like this has been a long time coming, and I am so afraid that its going to go by so fast! I am so excited to meet all of you, and begin friendships that I am sure will last a lifetime! I will see you sunday! Happy trails, and happy packing!
